“Coastal character, composed with elegance”

The aspiration for Alta Marea combined the ease of coastal hospitality with the polish of an elegant seafood restaurant. Across the connected dining areas, a consistent identity needed to emerge without allowing decorative elements to overwhelm the lightness of the rooms. Integrating the seafood display was equally important: it would give the culinary offer a visible presence while sitting comfortably within the furniture arrangement and circulation.

Pale architectural panelling provides the framework for bespoke blue-and-cream banquettes, marine artwork and dark timber joinery. We introduced generous round tables for shared dining, complemented by cane-backed chairs with ochre seats. The seafood bar brings together a fluted timber front, substantial pale counter and brass detailing, with illuminated shelving creating depth behind it. Terrazzo flooring and stone tabletops maintain a bright foundation, while darker borders define routes between the seating areas. Decorative chandeliers, wall sconces and shaded lamps add warmth throughout. Coastal references are woven into the room through colour, texture and craftsmanship, creating a welcoming setting that feels distinctive, composed and closely connected to the dining experience.
