“Earthy materials, effortless warmth”

Natural colour, tactile surfaces and a relaxed Mediterranean sensibility guided the vision for Gaia. The restaurant needed a distinctive presence while remaining easy and welcoming, with a substantial central bar integrated into a sequence of dining areas. Achieving that balance required careful control of circulation and proportion, ensuring that repeated openings and seating arrangements felt cohesive without making every part of the interior identical.

Soft arches and curved edges connect the spaces, supported by a consistent palette of cream, clay and warm brown. We developed a bespoke bar faced in slender terracotta tiles, with a pale terrazzo counter echoed in the patterned flooring. Cream banquettes follow the walls, paired with dark timber tables and chairs upholstered in rust and neutral fabrics. Geometric wall reliefs introduce subtle variation, while recessed shelves give ceramics and glassware a place within the architecture. Sculptural clay-toned pendants and small table lamps provide warmth at different heights. Gaia emerges as a light, inviting restaurant whose identity is carried through the relationship between architectural form, handcrafted texture and carefully detailed furniture.
