“A sense of belonging, rich in detail”
Coci Cucina was imagined as the kind of neighbourhood restaurant that feels familiar from the first visit, with food, wine and conversation at its heart. The long, relatively narrow dining room demanded an economical arrangement of seating and clear circulation for service. Exposed brickwork, dark timber and decorative details offered considerable character, but needed careful balancing to keep the room comfortable and welcoming.
A continuous burgundy banquette and bespoke wine shelving define opposite sides of the interior, combining seating, display and storage within a coherent layout. Dark timber tables sit alongside black bentwood chairs with woven cane seats, giving the furniture a familiar and visually light quality. We used carved timber details to frame connections between the spaces, with patterned flooring carrying a continuous decorative rhythm through the room. Framed pictures and trailing greenery soften the masonry, while warm filament lamps draw attention to the grain and texture of the materials. The finished interior has the intimacy of a well-loved trattoria, with practical planning allowing its layered details and sociable atmosphere to take focus.
